voltaren is the shiiit

today sucked balls!
I was able to ski 3 runs but than i had to quit because my legs were killing me, especially the left one. It's really bad when i have my ski boots on because all the pressure is on the sore and painful area of the leg. I had the same problem last year and i'm so tired of it;/

Since I couldn't ski I spent the day with voltaren gel and plastic around my legs(Y)

focus on the good things

The first races of the season are over. I didn't do as well as i had hoped, but i'm trying out a new thing and i'm only going to focus on the positive things. I got bad results because I did some crucial mistakes and lost a lot of time on the flat. But that doesn't matter, I know I was skiing really good in the steep part, and i got a lot of compliments. I'm also pretty stoked that I finished 2 slalom races in a row. For me thats really good if u look at last winter where i only finished 4 of 13 slalom races.

Enough about that.. today i'm gonna ski giant slalom for the first time in over a month and i'm soooooo excited. It's going to awesome.

I was only gonna write a short blog this time to tell u about the races. It must be so boring reading a long blog with no pictures. I will try to remember my camera and take some pictures for the next post;)

snowesomeness!

hellooo8)
I havent posted a blog for a month now due to boredom! There wasn't any snow in Sweden so i didn't go there like I had planed, and i had to change my flight like 5 times.  I was suppose to go to Sweden the first of november but instead i went to Norway the 23rd. I hadn't skied for a month so the first day didn't go so well. I've been here for 7 days now and i've had 5 days of skiing, i've only been skiing slalom and it has been going way better then i thought it would. The weather reminds me a bit of iceland! One day it's snowing and the next day it's raining cats and dogs. It has also been really windy.. which sucks balls;/

Tomorrow i got my first race of the season! It's slalom and i'm a bit nervous. There is another slalom race on friday and then i got one week of training before the next race:)

I'm staying in Geilo and I love it! it's so good to be back. I will be staying here until the 15th of december then i'll go to Hafjell for some races. After that, on the 21st, i'm flying home to Iceland for christmas:D

Austria-Iceland-Sweden

Now i'm back home after 2weeks in Austria. I got to ski a lot, and had some really good on- and off-snow training. The weather was pretty good most of the time and the team was great! We had a lot of fun together.
We went shopping on our day off and i bought a bunch of baby clothes for Dagnys little prince. He's going to look so cool in his new Rolling Stones and The Beatles t-shirts:D I also got a new hat for myself. So now i got a pretty nice hat collection from H&M(Y).
The last week in Austria I got my new helmet, goggles and sunglasses from Uvex, my gloves from Hestra, and ski poles from Komperdell. Everything looks awesome! but i must say the helmet is a liiittle bit too green...

It's really nice being back home. I arrived on sunday and i've just been relaxing and having fun with my boyfriend on Selfoss. On monday I had an interview for a small skipaper called "skíðahandbókin" wich comes out in desember. Later today i'm going to Akureyri. I will stay in Akureyri over the weekend and then i'll go back to Selfoss for a couple of days before I leave for Sweden.
I'm really looking forward to the weekend. I'm going to hang out with my friends and family and then on sunday Dagny and Valur are gonna give their  little boy a name. I'm pretty sure it's gonna be Katrínus..

I don't know for sure when i'm leaving for Sweden but it's gonna be someday next week. I'm pretty exited but at the same time i really want to stay in Iceland a bit longer. It's hard always being away from home.

Warming up for beach volleyball

I stole this nice poster from the guys and i decided to put it up in the girls room.

The new GREEN helmet and goggles.

I found a ship in Frankfurt and decided to sail home

Austria baby

aaaaalright it's time for a new blog!
I'm in Austria now with the national team and the junior team. We got here last friday, but the 2 weeks between my trips i was in Iceland chillin with my friends and family and doing some dryland training. My sister was suppose to have her second baby when i was in Italy but the little guy waited for me and was born on september the 27th. He is the cutest baby ever!!<3

Then the 7th of october i flew with the team to Frankfurt and then we drove for 10 hours to Mölltal. The glacier was closed the first 2 days which suucked! Then on the 3rd day we went up to the glacier even though the weather was crazy. We skied one run in really bad conditions and then they closed the lift and we went back down to the hotel.
The guys from Sweden who were training with us in Italy are here as well. We had a football match, Iceland vs. Sweden and of course we won. Then we had a volleyball math and they owned us.. which sucks cause I hate to loose.

The last 2 days the weather has been much better and the conditions up at the glacier are getting really good. Down at the hotel the weather is awesome! sunny and around 25°C.
We skied giant slalom today and it went ok. I got some things i need to work on but it's getting better and better, and faster and faster.

Stuck in Stelvio

I'm still in Stelvio skiing, and it has been perfect! Whole last week was sunny but the snow was still hard and my skiing was really good. Because i was sick i only got one day of GS in course and 2 days of slalom. But I was so stoked and a bit surprised how well it went, i'll put in a video when i get back home;)

The last to days haven't been as awesome as last week. It has been snowing like crazy and yesterday was really windy and foggy as well. Cause of the snowstorm the lifts are closed and we are stuck at the hotel. The roads down from the mountain are closed as well. Tomorrow is the last day of skiing, and the weather is supposed to be better. So it looks like we're going to get some powderskiing:D
The day after tomorrow we're driving down to the Head factory so Brynjar can pick up some skis and boots. When we're done there we will drive to Frankfurt and stay at Hotel Ibiz for one night(Y). Then on thursday we're flying to Iceland. I'm really exited to get back home, BUT MOST OF ALL  i'm exited to get McDONALDS at the airport:D:D

Me and the guys took a walk up the mountain and found a bunch of caves and tunnels from world war1.

The view from the fitness room is amazing

Stelvio, Italy

Soooo I arrived at Stelvio last friday after a loong trip. I flew from Iceland to Hamburg with Brynjar and Sturla and then we had to drive for 12 hour's. We're staying at a hotel called Baita Ortler wich is 3000meters above the ocean. The air here is thinner then i'm used to, so i get tired way faster then i'm used to. But that just means i'll be in better shape when i get back home x)

The ski slopes are awesome, and it's been sunny every day since we arrived. It's about 20°C warm during the day but in the night it gets below zero, so the slopes are always hard. We were free skiing the first 2 days so today was the first day we were gonna to ski in a course.  Unfortunately i've been lying in bed sick all day, but hopefully i get to ski tomorrow.

Driving trough the woods

The road up to Stelvio has 48 U-turns!
